From May 8th to May 12th of this year, PTS students Elias Roos, Joseph Oten, and Kaelir Godfrey-Takaki participated in the Infomatrix competition in Bucharest, Romania. Prior to that, from May 3rd to May 7th, the three students toured Turkey, covering Bursa, Izmir, and Istanbul during their travels. The students were accompanied by their dedicated coach, Shohrat Geldiyev and another team with teacher from MSA San Diego. When in Bucharest, the students participated in a competition that promoted international cooperation and interaction. During this time, the students met many people from all parts of the world, and consequently built friendships that were not limited by the boundaries of their respective countries. On the second to last day of the trip, the students visited Brasov, the mountain town that houses Vlad the Impaler’s castle, and saw many historical locations. Joseph Oten and Kaelir Godfrey-Takaki received the Silver medal for their short film: “Around the World”, while Elias Roos received the Bronze medal for his program: “GenesPTS Bioinformatics Tool”.
